How to Volunteer

All of our volunteers must pass a background screening process.  This is the first step after letting us know you'd like to volunteer.  You can submit your request to volunteer from the homepage of our website.

We will ask you for information regarding your interests, hobbies, history, and preferences in order to help us find the best friend for you.  We will work with the family or nursing home facility to ensure you meet all training and requirements for entry into associated facilities.  We ask that you attempt to visit your friend a minimum of 1 hour per week.  If for any reason your match isn't working out or you cannot continue the relationship, we ask that you e-mail us right away. 

The only service our volunteers provide is time.  We do not provide any type of care taking, vehicle transportation, or get involved with medical or physical needs of our friends.  We do not provide financial assistance or gifts, nor do we accept from our friends.  Reasonable gift giving (minimum cost) is allowed from both parties.  You can bring your children and/or pets so long as you follow the rules and guidelines of the nursing home facility.  You must be present with your children and/or pets during the visits.  Must be at least 18 years of age to volunteer.
